Playing a musical instrument is a social activity and much of the enjoyment from learning is extending this skill by playing in a band or orchestra, or singing in a choir. Junior ensembles from the Merton Music Foundation rehearse on Saturdays and regularly play in end of term concerts, as well as combining with the Senior Bands, Ensembles and Choirs to take part in the “Music Is For Life” concert series at the Royal Albert Hall. Membership of the senior groups is generally by invitation from the junior ensembles.
